Hey, there! I’m Mary Kate, btw, and the lead photographer for Kate & Co. Creative. Your wedding is one of the biggest days of your life, and it’s my job to tell your love story. I want to do that so well that you fall head over heels for us and everything Kate & Co. does to take care of our couples and make your experience worth every penny. And that’s just it—we want to provide you with an experience that you can only get from us.

Let’s face it, wedding planning is a huge task, and we’re going to be here with you every step of the way. We’ve been around a few weddings and can offer insight and solutions that will hopefully help ease the stress of it all. We take the time to check in on our brides along the way just to see how planning is going. After all, we’re a big part of your day, too, and we want to make sure we haven’t missed a detail.

I love pancakes. But more than having blueberries in my pancakes, having a spark with our couples is so important to me. Let’s grab breakfast or just a cup of coffee. I want to hear every detail about how he popped the question, what your dream wedding looks like, and what your expectations are for your big day. It’s an extra step, but it helps make sure that we fit just as well as that dress. At the end of the day, I don’t want you to just be a fan of our work, I want you to fall in love with everything we do.

What is a first look?

A first look is a private time set aside for just the bride and groom to see one another before they walk down the aisle. After we snap a few photos, we'll give you some time to soak in the excitement of the day with no one around, including me. Some couples opt for a "first touch" or choose to have a first look with a parent instead. Should you have one? That's entirely up to you, but they are some of the most tender moments of the day.

Do I need a second photographer?

Some of my favorite shots from a wedding are with a second shooter by my side. Who better to hold a veil for a picture than someone who knows how to get the perfect shot? Two photographers working together increases the number of photos taken of your special day and gives you a different perspective. We're also able to split up and capture more of the day at the same time. All of this holds true when I'm often asked whether or not a videographer is a must. My answer is always "yes."

Do I need bridals?

I’m a big fan of bridals. A lot is happening on your wedding day, and a bridal session allows you to get dressed up and get all of those Instagram-worthy shots without the time-constraints and pressure you might feel on your big day. This is also a chance to make sure your dress is absolutely perfect and test-drive your hair and makeup choices beforehand.

What time should our ceremony start?

Everything about your wedding day is focused around your ceremony start time. Are you planning a first look? How long will your ceremony last? Not to mention, those dreamy golden light photos happen 1-2 hours before sunset. We’ll have a few questions, but we can help you build out the perfect timeline for your wedding day. Talk to your photographer first before setting your ceremony start time.

I could not have asked for a better photographer! Mary Kate is a pleasure to work with, We were lucky to have her capture our engagement session and our wedding day! We had a blast during both shoots, and will continue to use her to capture our future life-changing events as long as she’ll have us!
